Europa - Part 1

I have just returned from my trip to Europa. It was a three week voyage through England, France, Italy, and the Netherlands. The original impetus for the trip was to attend a friend's wedding.

We landed in London first. Because we stupidly (or not so stupidly according to those who like to be free of debt) let our Visa credit card expire, we had some issues with booking cheap flights and hotels in the UK. So we had some money issues there, and the cellphone we borrowed had an invalid SIM card due to a long period of inactivity. We didn't figure this out at first, because the staff at Carphone warehouse didn't check before they added money to the dead account. Later when the phone failed to connect, the manager of the store called the service provider and discovered this was the easron. Anyway, things got sorted as they say in the UK. We took some pictures and conserved our money for the remainder of the trip.

Our friends Cedric and Michiko got married just outside of Nice, in San Raphael. We stayed at Cedric's parents' summer place in Frejus. It was reminiscent of a mobile home resort like those found in Canada, where people own mobile home and plots in a big walled resort city. It was very nice. The actual ceremony was performed in a nearby restaurant/villa resort in San Raphael. It was also very nice as it was also located in the beautiful countryside of southern France.

More to follow...
