A lazy Sunday Hanami BBQ

I was hoping today was going to be a nice day. The reason was because Russ and I had decided that today was the day to go to Osakajo Koen to have a Hanami BBQ. We were lucky that it didn't rain, but the sky was overcast.

So Russ brought his brand new portable BBQ, some charcoal, and some accelerant with him and we met him at Osakajo. Already there waiting for us was the Tennouji trio, consisting of Naoyuki, Shigeki, and Takuya.

After some walking we decided to set up our party overlooking the outer moat of Osakajo. We had to hurry because Shigeki was returning to the army base later that day. In fact he had about half an hour to hang around. Well we setup the BBQ and were able to get some food cooked before he had ot leave. While the food was cooking Steve and Louise showed up. It was a bit difficult finding people in the park because it was big and very crowded.

After Shigeki had to run for his train, Jean, then Kirsten and then Rachel showed up. The party was getting started! The group eventually included more people and night fell. The view was excellent from our vantage point.

We started to head home with Adelle, Rachel and Dawn when we saw some fire jugglers/twirlers in the distance. Dawn used to twirl fire so she desperately wanted to meet these guys and try some fire twirling. We made our way towards the location of the twirlers and came upon a makeshift shanty town full of tents and hippies. It was a neat sight seeing the tents and camps in front of the city lights.

We didn't find the fire twirlers but we did meet a girl who was twirling. So Dawn went straight to her and asked if she could have a go. The girl obliged and we saw that Dawn had some mad skills.
Before we left we also met up with DJ Freebass, who had not gone to bed since the night before. He was drumming with some random Japanese drummers. We stayed to listen for a bit before heading home.
