Another one flies away

The Kita Family has decreased in size. This time it was Russ leaving on a jet plane. He's heading back to jolly old England. We had some good times here in Osaka with him. The most notable was the night I got a knock on my door at 6AM. I was content with ignoring it, but luckily for Russ and Kirsten Jamie made me answer the door. Kirsten stood there with a frantic look and a bloody jacket. She hadn't killed anyone but some did get hurt.

Russ and Kirsten had gone out to party that night. Russ and Jean had shared a bottle of whiskey and drank a lot on top of that so Russ was 3 sheets to the wind as some would say. Somehow Kirsten and Russ had managed to get most of the way back home when Russ fell off his bike and smashed his chin on the road. When Kirsten helped him up the blood got all over her jacket.

Anyway, we had a fun time of dealing with a bleeding Russ. It took some time to drag him into a ambulance. The hospital was an interesting experience. Jamie was interpreting. Russ was calling for Kirsten. But only one person could be in the room.

The doctors at the hospital seriously thought he had some brain damage and we had to convince them he was just really drunk. Luck for Russ I had my cellphone camera ready :)

Thanks for the memories Russ! We'll miss your rendition of Stevie Wonder's I just called to say I love you! Come and visit.

Ah, yes, I remember that well... I remember him trying to eat stew or something at Jean's birthday dinner a few days later? Just wasn't working out for him...
