Three things in one day.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been kind of lazy with blogging of late. So two Sundays ago we had a lot to do. They say when it rains it pours. The original plan was hang out with Ikuyo for her birthday and then take her out to Pirates of the Dotombori, a improv comedy show.

We managed to get some things done in the morning like get me some new contacts and a new suit. Got to look dapper for work, you know. We got these things in Yodobashi Camera of all places. I even snuck in some browsing in the camera department. Mmmm. That's where we met up with Ikuyo.

The reason we were in Umeda was because Jamie was to pick up some stuff she forgot at a bar called Captain Kangaroos. Unfortunately as it was a holiday weekend the place was closed. At least we got the other stuff done.

After we finished in Umeda we went for a coffee and snack in the Namba area. We went into a small coffee shop that was near Pure, the venue in which Pirates of the Dotombori was to be performed, because their motto was pure genius.

Okay, it was also because of the air conditioning. Anyway, we were among the first people to arrive at Pirates so we got some choice seats. There were some people there we knew as well. It's funny how small Osaka seems sometimes.

This was where the story was supposed to end but a few days earlier we had received word that our buddy Yoshi was leaving Japan for England.

This would be his second time there and it will be an extended stay of one year or more. As it was still early and we were only going to stay for a drink or two, Ikuyo came with us. My friend Sakamoto had mentioned having a welcome back party for our mutual friend Yukie but he forgot to email me the details. Luckily this farewell party was a combo event and she was there. Actually it was a "welcome back for a short time before you leave for England again" party for her as she planned to return to her man in England. Sakamoto, being the thoughtful guy he is, bought a cake and we all shared it.

It was a full night and everybody went home happy. Well, Jamie was only mostly happy because she didn't get her stuff.
