Thai with DW and Ryan's Sayo

This last week was fairly quiet. We managed to meet up with some people we haven't seen for ages. There is a guy named DW who used to work at the same place the wife did. He's really boisterous and funny, but we put up with him because we can. Anyway, we hadn't seen him so we decided to get some Thai food and chit chat. The food was good but the service was awfully slow that night. It seemed like a table of Thai patrons who came in afterwards got served faster. Needless to say we were not too pleased.

After we paid the bill we headed out to our next function. We were to meet our friend Ryan for his sayounara. I know, sayounara this, sayounara that. What can I do? People leave me.

We went to Slices pizza which is owned by a really nice couple who lived in Toronto previously. It reminds us of home when we go there. He invited a few people to this party as he had a big one a few nights before. This one was to tie up loose ends with the people who didn't make it to the raucous one. Akiko, Adelle, Scott, the wife and some others from Ryan's workplace showed up.

Adelle had bought a new tripod so we were playing with it and getting some low light shots. I didn't get that many but you can see if she did. All I got was a pic of me and Scott fooling around with a thousand yen note.

I did managed to get one of Adelle before she attached the tripod. You can see it behind the red bag on the table.

In other news, Osaka was the host to the IAAF 2007 Games. It redirected traffic and brought in a good amount of tourism dollars. It was also fun for the locals and foreign residents to go see the competitions. They even decorated the giant mechanic crab with moving limbs.
