There was more sadness when Adelle had her sayounara the other week. She got here around the same time as Heather and had decided it was time to go. Her mum was a little under the weather back in England and Adelle really missed her family so her mind was made.
Adelle had been in Japan for over a year before she left. It seemed like we knew each other forever and had an awesome time the whole way. I'll miss going out on our hikes together where we were trying to follow the signs in Japanese and the occasional trip to Asian Days for Hot Pot.
Coincidentally Adelle's party started here. The group had already started the "all you can eat" bonanza by the time Bao and I arrived. We had just finished our shift at 9PM. As you can see in the picture, Adelle will be missed by quite a few people. It was a bit of a rush at the end because the 90 minute limit started when they arrived and not when they first ordered, but I got my fill of food.
After the feast the horde slimmed down a bit and went next door to the Hub, an English Style bar/pub. They have private party rooms in the back that you can use if you want. For a fee you can do karaoke and watch sports there. We opted for the free room and drinking instead. This is where Melinda, Rory, Danielle and some others joined us.
The Hub was the start of the alcoholic festivities but Kasuga was where it ended. We sang and drank and sang some more. Poor Masato, the bar owner, wanted to go to sleep though as the next day was his only day with his family. He was nice about it though and stayed open until 5AM. This was because the Stepheffect manifested at about 3AM and ran it's course. Not that we minded, as you can see below.
At the end of the night there was talk of food, but the plans fell through and we all went home to enjoy a few hours of sleep before the next day started. I think Adelle had a good time. She only cried when we sang Peter, Paul and Mary's rendition of Leaving on a Jet Plane.
