Europa - Part 2

So then after that we went to Italy. Fun thing though, we brought phrase books and dictionaries for France even though we can muddle our way through a French conversation (thank goodness for French class as a requirement for Canada!), but we never brought any phrase books or dictionaries for Italy. Needless to say some parts of the trip were kind of difficult. Luckily our friend Vanni lives in Milano. We used Milano as a staging point for trips to Torino, Rome and Stresa. We tooks tons of pictures of the beautiful countryside and of course, the ancient ruins/architecture in each place.

We left Italy on a plane and ended up at our next destination, Amsterdam. It was really cold compared to the hot weather we had experienced in Southern France and Northern Italy. Not that cold should affect us Canadians, but the difference was quite noticeable. We ran amok amongst the Dutch taking pictures and trying anything we could get legally. It was a lot of fun.

On our last day we hopped on a train. This brought us to our next leg. Paris. The Parisian atmosphere was ... Parisian. Sort of cold and unbeckoning, yet the city has it's fair share of things to see, even if the people were much more aloof than in Nice. Yet, we did not have the problems that some of our English friends speaking friends had. We always started off conversations in French, and every conversation ended in English. There was only one guy who couldn't speak English.

Then of course we flew home. It was a much better experience flying home. One of the stewards on the flight went above and beyond to try to get Jamie a meal she wanted. It was there, but we appreciated the gesture. So we filled out a compliment form.
