Happy Birthday Scotty... err... Steve-y

When we had made plans to go to Kobe, we did not know Steve was having his birthday on the same day. Well, about a week ago he let us know, but we had set things in motion so we were already going to Kobe. I made some alterations to our schedule so that we could go to dinner earlier and still have time to meet him to wish him happy birthday. He had planned to have steak for dinner and then head out for drinks.

Several people came to enjoy some meat with him, but the people who were to show up for drinks cancelled. We were quite sad at this and told him to meet us near Namba station. One complication was that Dolly had run out of money and wanted to get some money to pay people back that night. What we didn't know was that UFJ, our bank, was having some problems with their ATM system. It took us a few ATMs to find this out. So no money for Dolly.

In time we met up with Steve and Matt, but we didn't have much time thanks to UFJ, and our lack of Japanese. So we decided to get a birthday icecream. Jamie managed to get the Royal Host employee, as there was an apparent lack of staff this night, to put a candle on Steve's. He seemed happy as we parted. Steve was going to wait at Soire to see if anyone was going to show.
