We spent some time taking pictures of the water basin before we made our way down the path. The light was starting to fade and the vegetation started taking on a jungle like feel. There were some fences along the path that reminded me of the electric fences in Jurassic Park. Watch out for the raptors!
In the few hours we had been in Kobe we had taken a lot of pictures. It was amazing to see the variety of environments we had seen. We went from downtown streets to manicured gardens to a man made water basin to a lush, almost tropical rainforest setting. After passing over a small cement bridge, we encountered some small waterfalls. Adelle gave away a little secret and told us there was a better one coming up. What she kept secret was a cool looking rope bridge further along the path. It seemed to bridge our path with a dead end, which actually was a sharp turn that lead down a dark path. Our tour guide Adelle, said we should come back another time when the light was better.
The path so far had been amazing and lacked signage. Our first encounter with a sign was of a warning to be aware of the wild boars in the area. Adelle confessed she had never seen one yet, but she was secretly hoping to see one soon. Finally after walking down some treacherous stone paths we rounded a corner to see an amazing water ahead of us. Instinctively we whipped out the cameras and started taking pictures.
Our tour guide, who had seen this all before sat down to enjoy some alone time while we clicked away. At this point in time Rachel had made contact and informed us she was in Kobe and hungering for Jamaican so we set forth on a cobble stone road towards the station and the end of our Kobe jungle trek.
