The beach life continues

Our second day at the beach started early. We managed to somehow extract ourselves from the comfy confines of our futons.

Already the sun was up and out in full splendour. This was a nice change from the day before where the start of the day was dreary and overcast. I took the opportunity to take some shots of the view from our balcony.

We had another feast as a "Viking" style continental breakfast was waiting for us in the mess hall. Mr. Rolland was loving it and had no problems getting his money's worth.

We headed to the beach to find it in fine form. We took the bus again but got off one station earlier. We walked down and saw some interesting beach umbrellas in the sand.

The water was nice the day before but it was awesome today. With the sun shining it was an amazing sight.

Monica was feeling like exploring so she headed out to a cool looking rock formation nearby. I went to see what she had discovered and it was a magnificent view of the Pacific.

Today the water sports increased in intensity as a fight between Thor and Odin broke out. Caught in the middle were three surprised looking Japanese guys. I think they thought we were Americans, and we didn't say anything to change their minds lest they tell their friends that Canadians and Scots are violent beings!

Kirsten and Louise had been to Shirahama earlier and suggested a cool outdoor onsen. We made our way to the spot but found it closed for some reason.

Sadness prevailed for a moment, but soon pictures were taken to make up for our efforts spent.

Check out time was early so we had stored our stuff in lockers before going to the beach. Our lunch was had in a restaurant downstairs and we hit the onsens at the hotel one last time for a soak and shower. I think everyone was pretty relaxed for the ride home.
