Drawing Battle

On Sunday we were supposed to go hiking in Fushimi Inari, which is located just outside of Kyoto. It is a 4.9km path up a mountain that is known for having the most Torii gates anywhere in Japan. The path runs under the Torii. It was used in one of the scenes in the film Memoirs of a Geisha. But, the weather reports on Saturday indicated that a typhoon was to hit the Osaka area which would mean rain and wind on Sunday so we called off the hike.

Instead we went to Sakai city and to a super sento which had a variety of sauna rooms. This place was famous locally for it's hot rocks sauna where you lay down in a sweat suit on the warm floor. It had rooms that ranged in temperature, light levels and aromas. It also had a sento attached with the usual stuff included. Thanks to Yuichii we made it there with no problems and had a great time. We couldn't take pictures in here so we didn't.

We had to return to Osaka because we wanted to go the SOHO Drawing Battle. SOHO is a gallery owned and operated by Celio, who I know from work.

The event was supposed to be a draw off between artists but since we were late we only saw the tail end of the festivities. Scott and I both were there for emotional support.

Jamie and Adelle drew some pictures as the pieces drawn on this day were to be shown at a later date. Jamie also took out the camera and took the pictures here. Adelle's hero was called Hana Banana. She turned people into flowers. She started as a good guy, but I convinced her to turn Hana into a super villain.

Jamie didn't draw a superhero per se but she managed to draw a close up of someone's face with pastels. It could fit in with a superhero theme without a problem.
