After Ryan and Midori had their nap we all climbed on the bus then the train and headed for Kyoto. At the beginning of the day the weather was not pleasing at all. We had our umbrellas and had a good time anyway. We made our way up to Kiyomizudera following multiple signs that said "Kiyomizudera 1km". That one kilometre never decreased as we got closer. We managed a few shots even with the inclement weather. Jamie saw this expression and had to have a picture.
You can see everyone cleaning their hands before entering the temple.
For such a rainy day it was amazing to see the amount of people out and about.
We did happen to arrive at the same time as a tour bus though. We made it most of the way through before they started to shut things down so we rushed down the water drinking place to make sure we could do it. Luckily there was time for us. Jamie got a pic of Ryan and Midori drinking the water for good luck.
After that we started to look for the Gion Matsuri. We made our way through the old streets of Kyoto and at least once we got lost along the way.
At least the sun came out to make appearances here and there. The blue sky is always a welcomed sight.
We even got to see some things we never saw before. This Buddha statue was hidden away at the edge of the forest. Apparently it was a memorial for foreigners who died in captivity during WWII.
We also got some good pictures along the way. Midori saw some water bubbled upon some moss and wanted a cool shot. Jamie helped out by taking some pictures on our camera as well to make sure we got something.
I like taking people pictures so I had Midori and Ryan pose with an old parasol we found in a doorway to a park or something.
