Kitaoke

Kita Tatsumi station is located in Ikuno-Ku(Ikuno Ward), which is considered a slum of sorts by many Japanese people. They think it's unsafe in the area because of the high number of foreigners like Koreans, Chinese and of course the English teachers. Generally speaking the neighbourhood is like any other neighbourhood in Osaka, safe. Kita Tatsumi is home to a number of cool things, like the Ubou Karaoke Box near the station. On this Friday night I was to introduce some new people to the area, and I did so with... (karaoke)

Again, Armandina and Bill came along for the ride. Armandina brought along her friend Elle, and she brought her roommate from the Spanish team. Adair's friend Chris had just arrived in Osaka so he came out and Kathy, who has been here a while but hasn't been out with us before, also sang her heart out. Go Cali! Also making an appearance were Naoyukki, with some Rinda, Rinda, Sakamoto, Cedric, Ryan, Louise, and Matt. Matt's friend Ted from the US also came along for the ride. Jamie also came out even though she was tired and sick.

The theme of the night was dress up and bring a bottle in your bag. Well, most of the good costumes were gone so Armandina and I were the only ones to attempt the dress up. Here you can see her in a shop assistant's outfit. If you visit places like Joshin or Yodobashi Camera or BIC Camera, the sales staff all wear similar outfits.

We have been to this Ubou so many times some of the staff know us by sight. A large group always comes with us so they always put us in room 14. Last time we were in there the air conditioner shut down. This time the karaoke machine crashed. It crashed hard. It wouldn't start, even after the manager rebooted it by unplugging it from the wall. So like last time we were upgraded to the fancy room for free.

The above picture shows how much fun it was in Room 14 before the crash and how well we adjusted to the new digs. We were there for the songs so as long as we could sing we were happy.
