When you look at your life and your friends you expect to see happiness most of the time (You want to see happiness ALL the time, but reality sets in). When we first arrived in Osaka we met Kouji at his bar in Kita Tatsumi. It was a small bar, but it had a big heart. We shared many good memories with the patrons there as well as the bar master. Like the ones of leaving the bar at an ungodly hour in the morning for a snack at the greasy spoon across the street (Friendly's if you wanted to know).
Kouji decided he wanted more than just a bar. He wanted to run a club, so he moved Bar Dunk downtown to Shinsaibashi and called it Club Dunk. It had a new spacious dance floor and could accomodate more than triple amount of people, but it was also quite pricey in the area. The regulars from Kita Tatsumi found it difficult to commute into the downtown area for just a drink and for some reason the locals there didn't come.
After a few good months of trying, Club Dunk had to close. So on the 25th of this month(Dec) Club Dunk will close it's door one last time. We hope it comes back. We'll miss the free karaoke.

Are you kidding me?
I had no idea Club Dunk was closing. I was just there two nights ago.
The echoes of Joe singing Wham! I will keep in my heart forever.
wow, closing on Christmas. That makes me sad, really sad. Especially since I'm listening to opera right now. I hope the Bar Dunk makes a smashing come back, that's where it belonged all along.
We can hope. Apparently he will help run another bar downtown. Both Sakamoto and Jamie have told him he should move in the "Lieben Liebe" across from Natty North. You know, the infamous building with all the hostess clubs. I think Kouji said it was too dirty or something. Hopefully he reconsiders.
