Home Alone

I'm sitting here wondering what to do with myself. Both computers are re-encoding some movies so I have nothing to do until they are done. My ankle is swollen, but I don't know why. I have to ask Sakamoto to bring me to the hospital since Jamie is in Hong Kong with Rachel now.

I wonder how I will get my shoes on to leave the house. Going down the stairs was hell this morning. I had to throw the bags of trash oustside because today was garbage day. Did you know that in Higashi Osaka it is illegal to use opaque bags? Sarah told me that her friend told her that it was so that one couldn't hide body parts in the trash.

Luckily here in IkunoKu we throw out body parts with wanton abandon and are allowed to use black bags.

The hayfever is starting. My eyes are itchy all the time, and any thoughts of getting contacts go out the window when I blink. It's sad because contacts are much cheaper here in Japan compared to Canada. I think I'll need to re-check my prescription on my lenses as things are not as clear as in the past.

Not only is Jamie travelling, but some of my friends are travelling as well. Andrew from work also headed out to HK, but he is also visiting Singapore as well. Though he is going alone because everyone else who said they would cancelled. Another buddy, Louise has also left Japan to spend some time travelling. She is headed to Korea for a stopover before landing in the good old United States of America to see Bretto.

If you are reading this Bretto, be prepared she is on her way!
